Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Monetario is a personal and household finance app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Information we collect

Your Google account name, email, and profile image (for sign-in); and the financial data you enter — accounts, budgets, income, and transactions. If you later choose to connect your email for automatic logging, we read only the bank notification messages needed for that feature; this is off by default.

How we use it

Solely to provide Monetario's budgeting, ledger, net-worth, and reminder features, scoped to your household. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Monetario has no ability to move money, pay, or transfer on your behalf.

Service providers

We rely on Google (authentication), Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email reminders) to operate. We share only what each needs to function.

AI assistant connector

Monetario offers an optional connector that lets an AI assistant (such as Claude by Anthropic) read and record your household's finances through Monetario's API on your behalf. Connecting is optional and uses OAuth, so you never share your password; you authorize specific actions and can disconnect at any time. The connector records bookkeeping only — it cannot move money, pay, or transfer; every change it makes is logged and reversible; and it is limited to your own household's data. Monetario does not receive your AI chat history, and the connector never reads the assistant's memory or your other files. Anything you share in that conversation is also handled by the assistant's provider under their own privacy terms.

Security & retention

Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest and never logged. You can edit or delete your data at any time; deleting your household removes its data.
